Reading dwells in your mind

Hello,
Here we are again! Beginning of the semester, the first week, it seems like just yesterday when we packed our stuff and already to hit the roads leading to the greatest place on earth called HOME! But now, back here again, it might feel like after all these years, gosh, I'm back in square one. Then the cycle starts back again, here we go up and down the dales. But there's this one thing that I feel about this course, the assignments actually makes me choose whatever text that I feel like working it...before this-we were only to use the assigned texts, finally, I could exhale, I mean literally of course.

There are a few texts assigned, but what holds the greater excitement here is of the papers that we have to come up with at the end the studying.hmmm totally inorthodox I admit but when thinking about it-it's like flying without wings into great realms of untouched fantasies. When was the last time one read a gothic, science fiction or even fantasy piece of work? Probably years back our parents told us stories on fables, children's literature or even the Mahabaratha, we never got the chance to ponder and strutinise it for education sake. What we loved about Wuthering Heights might die or get locked up in the Heights itself, because we never took the time to indulge into our own mind of what or how far these great works of literature could have on the mind.

A mind is always a mysterious faculty that we ourselves, the masters can't seem to comprehend what's beyond the hidden gallows and dark pathways. The process of reading the genres we once fell in love with will gradually provide light in our heads. It does to me, reading sort of like, keeps the mind venturing and always getting to know something, at least I know I am still living and breathing. When we read sc-fi or fantasy or even gothic works, the mind explores the unexpected places and the unseen places that our eyes never laid upon. When I read I see a movie inside my head, a movie for which I am the director, I get to choose the settings and even the actors. All these is based on the descriptions of the writer in the literary work and see how much of effects a work of literature could have on our minds? Fantastic isn't it?

Reading favourite materials will light up our fantasy lands, bringing back memories of great readings in the past. What I believe is some people tend to achieve better in life if they are given a chance to excel in their ways.
